Manuscripts

The Historical Library preserves some 100 manuscripts, most of which originate from the collections of Spyridon Loverdos and Panagiotis Laskaridis. The majority are Greek codices from the 12th to the 19th century, primarily of religious interest, some with impressive illuminations. A small number are in Latin and other European languages, while the collection also includes eight remarkable manuscripts in Arabic script.
