"They wrote about it" - 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture

Dedicative, bilingual anthology, which brings together 200 emblematic texts on Eleusis from antiquity to modern times.

The 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture and  the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation invite you to the presentation of the anthology They wrote about it.

The anthology presents emblematic texts on Eleusis from antiquity to modern times, which converse with works by Shakespeare, Voltaire, Goethe and Hegel, as well as modern pilgrims; among them Flaubert, Virginia Woolf, Hauptmann, and closer to the 20th century the works of Pound, Sikelianos, Artaud, Camus, Müller,  Seferis, Ritsos.

A tribute, bilingual publication with 200 landmark texts, reintroduces us to the city of Eleusis and records the intellect, the location and the myth that surround it.

Michael Marmarinos, Director, General Artistic Director 2023 Eleusis

Kali Kyparissi, Director of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, will introduce  the event, while Nana Spyropoulou, CEO 2023 Eleusis, will give a welcome address.

Excerpts from the anthology will be recited: Michael Marmarinos, Martha Frintzila, Menelaos Kyparissis.
