The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and “Kaleidoscope” Publications are pleased to invite you to the conference entitled: A small library, a big journey, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, 09.00-15.00, at the Historical Library of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation 2nd Merarchias 36 & Akti Moutsopoulou, in Piraeus.
On the occasion of the European programme of love of reading “Our small library”, we discuss how important for the development of children is their relationship with books, about the contribution of illustration, quality characteristics and materiality of books to the cultivation of aesthetic education and contact with art. Also, about the importance of building a community of readers in the classroom and the wider school environment, about reading corners as a core of library creation, about the playing class, reading aloud and the sustainable value of ICT, about the literacy crisis in the 21st century.
Six books from six countries! We learn, we share, we communicate, we find the stories behind the stories and the images behind the images.
In addition, we present proposals and exchange ideas for actions and activities on the occasion of the six books of the action.
