The library was acquired by the Foundation in 2020 through a kind donation from his wife, Ioli Vingopoulou. It consists of approximately 1,700 items, mainly on the subjects of Byzantine archeology and history.

Biography
Thanasis Papazotos (1951-1996) was a Byzantinist. He was born in Agios Athanasios, Drama. He studied at the Archaeological Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He studied Byzantine and post-Byzantine archeology and art of the northern Greek area. He participated in excavations, in the restoration and conservation of various monuments, in international Conferences and Symposia. He was a visiting researcher at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, United States. He published articles on Byzantine painting, historical and philological subjects, topographical, hermeneutical and archaeological problems, questions of architecture, epigraphy and sculpture, and other subjects relating to the Byzantine world.
