The library came to the Foundation in 2016 through his generous donation. It includes about 15,000 items on various subjects, particularly related to Greece, with an emphasis on history and politics.

Biography
Aristeidis Karatzas (1945-2016) was a publisher mainly active in the United States. He studied history and philology, subjects he later taught at the University of California (Los Angeles) and the University of Maryland until 1974. He worked for over forty years as an international business consultant, with a network of contacts in the USA, Europe, Russia, and Israel. Since 1975, he also engaged in scientific publishing. For a decade, he was the publisher of the studies of the Vryonis Centre for the Study of Hellenism in California. He founded the publishing house “Melissa International Ltd” based in Scarsdale (New York) and Athens, which published academic books, mainly historical, political, and religious, with an emphasis on Greece, Cyprus, Russia, and Turkey. He was a member of the Association of Alumni of American Universities and had served as an executive of the Hellenic American Union.
