The library of Loukia Droulia consists of approximately 13,000 items and was incorporated into the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in 2018. Its main focus is on modern Greek history and literature, emphasizing the Greek Enlightenment, the Greek War of Independence, and Philhellenism, travel literature, and the history of the Greek book and press.

Biography
Loukia Droulia (1931-2019) was a historian and Director Emerita in the Modern Greek Studies Division of the National Hellenic Research Foundation. She studied history at the University of Athens and earned a third-cycle Doctorate from Sorbonne University. She collaborated with the National Hellenic Research Foundation, where she served as Director of the Center for Modern Greek Studies (1981-1996) and was a member of the Board of Directors (1986-1996). Her research interests focused on societal and educational issues during the Greek Enlightenment and the 19th century, the Philhellenism movement of the 19th century, the history of the Greek book and Greek libraries (15th-20th centuries), travel literature concerning Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean (15th-19th centuries), and the history of the Greek press (1784-1996). She served on the editorial board of the journal “O Eranistis” (1969-1986), was the manager (General Secretary) of the Greek Enlightenment Study Group (1969-1977), and represented the National Hellenic Research Foundation in the non-governmental Committee of Humanities of the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg (1987-1996). From 1989 to 1996, she was the national coordinator of the Historical Research Institute of the National Hellenic Research Foundation and a member of the committee for UNESCO’s “Silk Roads, Roads of Dialogue” program. She was also a member of the Advisory Committee of the journal “Revue des Etudes S.E. Européennes” (Bucharest, 1990-2000), a member of the Supervisory Council of the General State Archives (1995-1997), and a member of the Supervisory Council of the National Library of Greece. She published extensively, including books, articles, and studies in collective volumes.
