On December 13, 14 and 15, the University of Piraeus in collaboration with the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation held an international conference at the Historical Library of the Foundation, on “Rethinking Economic Theory (RET) International Workshop 2024”.
Distinguished academics and university professors explored interdisciplinary approaches to economic theory, discussed key concepts such as rationality, self-interest and balance in light of new evidence and perspectives, and examined the integration of knowledge from behavioral sciences, environmental studies and other related fields with the ultimate goal of an economic theory for the 21st century. Also, a key theme was the development of economic theories that address pressing global challenges and promote sustainable prosperity.
