Biography
Maya Lymberopoulou (1940-2021) was a theater actress, acting teacher, and translator. Born in Athens, she studied law at the University of Athens, theater at Karolos Koun’s Art Theater, and film in Paris. She collaborated with the Art Theater “Karolos Koun,” the National Theater, and the National Theatre of Northern Greece, starring in major productions but also playing secondary and minor roles, as she believed that theater is a “team sport.” She was the first female artistic director of the Patras Municipal and Regional Theater (DIPETHE), where her tenure left a significant legacy.
