Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation-Poesea: The Sea in literature

Poesea: The Sea in literature

An alternative way of approaching poetry in the digital age.

The new platform (in greek) of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation brings literature and poetry closer to video art! Through an interactive map, 31 islands bring lyrics to life, highlighting the importance of the sea in Greek thought and expression.

More specifically, the website poesea.gr  presents 31 poems about the sea. The focus is on short one-minute productions aimed at inspiring and promoting a return to words, but harnessing the power of video in our daily lives.

Of course, innovation is not limited to video art. The website poesea.gr offers a variety of information material, while it is accompanied by proposals-exercises for students and children, approved by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports.

With respect to its traditional values, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation aspires for this new platform to become an educational tool, both within and outside the school context, but also to encourage young people of all ages to discover the uniqueness of Greek landscapes and the Greek language.
