Aim and Activity
Vision & Mission
The Foundation's purpose is to function as a center of excellence for the promotion, at Greek and international level, of Greek culture in general and in particular Greek letters and historical and maritime research.
The Foundation’s mission can be summarized as follows:
- Promoting Greek language, culture and historical knowledge.
- Promoting Greek cultural heritage through libraries, archives and digital humanities.
- Strengthening libraries’ role in the communities.
- Offering a comprehensive, multi-faceted educational approach of unparalleled quality for students and teachers of all levels.
- Contributing to the society as a whole for purposes that the Board of Directors deems to reflect the principles and values of the Foundation.

The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation from the establishment of the "Kaiti Laskaridis" library in 1993, until today.
Who we are
Scientific Committee
The Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee is comprised of 12 members, prominent academics, scientists and distinguished members of the artistic, literary, research and technology communities, specializing in matters relating to the Foundation and its work and aiming to fulfill the Foundation’s goals.
Board of Directors
The Foundation's Board of Directors consists of the family members of Founder Panos Laskaridis and its Directors.
Our Team
The Foundation's staff consist of scientists and specialized personel, who work to achieve its goals.
Causes we support
As part of its activities, the Foundation offers its support to causes related to its areas of interest.
Hellenic Navy
The President of the Foundation fervently and consistently supports the Hellenic Armed Forces, donating ships and equipment.
Programme RE-BREATH (ANA-PNOI)
After the disastrous fires of August 2021 in Northern Evia and Ancient Olympia, the Foundation helped in the reconstruction and re-creation efforts, donating 1,100,000 euros.
Return to Antikythera
Underwater archaeological research at the famous Antikythera Shipwreck continues with the constant support of the Foundation.
Stone lighthouses
The implementation of the repair and restoration programme of the stone lighthouses of Cape Tainaro, Cape Maleas and Dana, at Poros island.
Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities
The new laboratory for the conservation of antiquities recovered from underwater archaeological surveys carried out in Greece was created with the support of the Foundation.
